Bischöflichen Museum

Bischöflichen Museum

The Bischöflichen Museum (Bishop’s Museum) is located north of the Trier Dom at Windstraße 6-8. Not surprisingly, the main treasures here are archeological finds from the Roman church and other sites in the region. Highlights include a 60,000-stone mosaic found three m (10 feet) under the crossing of the church and presumed to have been part of Constantine’s Palace. Further exhibits include sacral art from the Middle Ages to the present, including robes, gold and silversmith works, as well as original statues from the Liebfrauenkirche.
