Phuket Travel Guide
Introduction
Phuket is Thailand's premier tourist destination, a veritable tropical paradise crammed with endless pleasures and treasures. It comprises an island approximately the size of Singapore, and has on it virtually everything – from crowded beaches such as Surin, Karon and Nai Yang, to tucked-away, secluded coves; from high-end, luxury-themed resort hotels such as the exclusive (and, yes, expensive) Trisara and The Racha, to more affordable ones such as the Twin Palms and the Crowne Plaza; from colorful festivals and regattas that fill out the calendar, to ancient relics and zoos – essentially, something for everyone! And to think that Phuket was once dubbed "one of the world’s ugliest tourist destinations" by a major travel publication... Well, well, well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
Location
Phuket is located in Andaman Sea in southern Thailand. It is Thailand's biggest island.
