Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs, situated approximately 65 miles south of Denver, is an absolutely delightful city. Frequently referred to simply as “The Springs,” this is Colorado’s second largest city and quite possibly one of the loveliest. It is a well planned city in a picturesque setting, with the Rocky Mountains rising some 14,000 feet just beyond the city's wide, spacious streets. Here, the lower ripples of the Rockies are offered up in shades of mauve while the highest peak – Pikes Peak – resembles a spectacular Swiss Alp. As an added bonus, Colorado Springs is bursting with sights and attractions to regale and engage the visitor.

Colorado Springs is in fact rated as one of America’s most beautiful cities by European travel agents. And for many tourists, Colorado Springs is the Rocky Mountains.

Colorado Springs Orientation

Colorado Springs is both easy to get to and get around. Reached on I-25 south from Denver, the highway actually crosses downtown Colorado Springs and the outlying areas and also connects with attractions. A network of smaller roads take you to your destination. For instance, The Broadmoor is an easy drive off I-25 on Highway 85-87, while the Air Force Academy, another principal attraction here, has its own exits from the interstate.
