Located in an upscale shopping village, this is a fine dining restaurant. The restaurant focuses on an inventive Thai and American fare with a menu dominated by seafood and vegetarian meals. Expect the average entrée to cost between $12 and $20, and dress casual, but fashionable.
Atmosphere: Bangkok Thai was founded in 1991 by a world class chef. You`ll be able to take in the mountain view from many seats here. Architectually, the restaurant is in an unusual structure. The restaurant has an exotic and fashionable oriental style décor with a tropical theme. The interior is accented by warm tones, enhanced by sculptures and tapestries and flowers and plants, and the lighting is via track lighting. The place is decorated with a collection of various hard-to-find collectibles, and the place is accented with antiques.
The restaurant is small with seating for 104 people, and is exotic and relaxed and patroned by all kinds of people. Table talk is easy - this restaurant is quiet and subdued.
More Reasons to Go: There is folk music playing in the background at this restaurant on Thursdays and Sundays. Bangkok Thai is appropriate (if not ideal) for entertaining clients, birthdays, anniversaries, other romantic evenings and groups; also, the restaurant is often frequented prior the theatre. When weather permits, enjoy seating outside on the balcony.
Eating & Drinking: Open for lunch and dinner. The menu here at Bangkok Thai is rewritten frequently to stay fresh and creative based on availability given the time of year. Some of the more popular menu items include: a diverse menu offering of Pacific Rim and Continental Fare along with traditional, vegetarian and vegan Thai such as fresh fish and shellfish, lamb, steak, classic Thai stir fries and curries.
Both beer and wine are served, and you`ll find that there is a superb wine list with vintage options.
