Located 50 miles south of Bangor, Maine on the Blue Hill Peninsula, Oakland House Seaside Resort offers a 50-acre compound of family-sized Cottages, as well as our bed and breakfast style Shore Oaks Seaside Inn that offers fine dining in the century old Oakland House restaurant. Reservations for stays in Cottages in our high season are Modified American Plan, which includes breakfast and dinner as well as daily maid service and firewood delivery. Cottages are available on an off-season basis before and after high season. We have fifteen delightful cottages with vintage furnishings scattered discreetly over fifty beautiful wooded and seaside acres. Most Cottages have multiple bedrooms and all have full baths. Shore Oaks Seaside Inn, just fifty feet from the shore, offers an extraordinary panoramic view of the island, lighthouse and setting suns. Enjoy relaxing in our spectacular waterfront gazebo. In the century-old Oakland House Hotels four casually elegant dining rooms, tables are set with Grandmas Blue Onion china, fresh table linen, accented by candles and flowers from our gardens. Thursday nights feature a traditional lobster picnic on the beach along with Maine hotdogs, hamburgers, seafood chowder, salads, and corn-on-the-cob.
