First established in 1874 as the Laurent Winery by French vintner Jean Laurent, the winery was acquired, restored and reopened in 1978 by Bruce Markham, then sold again, in 1988, to the Mercian Corporation, present owners. The winery currently offers a full roster of vintage-dated varietal wines from its 300 acres of vineyards located in the valley. Wines include award-winning Chardonnay and Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir, and Sauvignon Blanc. Markham’s second label is Vin Mark. The winery also offers a sensory evaluation course to visitors on weekdays. Tasting and sales daily 10am-5pm; tours Mon.-Fri. by appointment only.
