As I’ve mentioned before, the water is clean enough to swim in even in the city center. Here are some good places to try: Kungsholmen has a couple of really good parks. One of them is Rålambshovsparken, which is in the southern corner adjacent to the water. The swimming area here, called Smedsuddsbadet, has a sandy beach right next to the lush park. A more secluded area is on the west side of the island where you’ll find the barren Fredhälls Klippbad. Another popular place is just across from Kungsholmen. Just take Västerbron (the longest bridge in the city) onto the island of Långholmen. Långholmen used to be a prison island but the old prison is today a museum and a hostel. The bathing area here is right next to the old prison.
