On the historical hotel’s second floor, this refined (if not a bit pricey) restaurant serves some of the Garda region’s most outstanding fish dishes. The chef showcases Garda’s fish, olive oil and wine in a wide range of traditional Gardesana and Veronese creations and is always crafting new recipes and discovering creative ways of presenting classics. Consider the battutina di persico in salsa Gardesana (perch prepared with a scallion and herb sauce) followed by the award-winning girella di cavedano al burro e timo (a pancake filled with a lake fish and topped with butter and thyme sauce). Their signature dish, filetto di lavarello in agrodolce (pan seared lavarello served with marinated vegetables) is a favorite. Satiated as you may be, it would be a shame to pass up a dolce and the terrina di cioccolato e wasabi con salsa di aranci e amare (chocolate and wasabi mold with orange sauce) is a good choice that you’re unlikely to find elsewhere. Those lucky enough to arrive before the crowds (even locals adore this place), should request the most sought-after tables on the veranda overlooking the port. Somehow, flavors are intensified out here making a meal far more delightful (though that’s not to say that the indoor tables aren’t elegant too). The extensive wine list features upwards of 300 wines and presents a wide selection of local and international wines to complement any meal.
