Along the shores of the Mincio River, this vacation village in six antique mulini (mills) overlooking the Ponte Visconteo is clearly something special. If you’re in the market for a romantic getaway, or simply prefer your overnight stay touched with class, consider one of the Villagio’s 12 suites that can be booked daily or weekly. Each charmingly decorated suite has its own special attributes, including hardwood floors, beamed ceilings, exposed stone walls, and kitchenettes. Certain suites also feature fireplaces, terraces and lofts. My personal favorites are La Cascata, the most requested suite, with views of the waterfall and Ponte Visconteo, or Le Rocche, with a classy dark-wood kitchenette and an upstairs loft particularly suitable for children. La Mansarda is one of the more spacious suites, while Il Camino features an old fireplace in the kitchen area. Each suite comes equipped with a private bathroom, television, air conditioning and hairdryers; some have sleeper sofas that accommodate an additional two guests (there is an extra fee for more than two people per room).
