The area around Assisi is a good place to shop for extra-virgin olive oil. It is best tasted in bruschetta – a slice of local toasted bread rubbed with a clove of garlic and drizzled with olive oil. Azienda Agraria Sasso Rosso sells it, or head up to Valfabbrica where you can taste and buy some of the best at Molino Ceccarani and Molino Serpioni.
