From Stazzema, you can easily reach the spectacular via ferrata (climbing walls) of Procinto, one of the region’s most challenging rock climbs, along #5. Other trails (#5 then #121 or #126) take you into the southern group of the Apuan Alps whether you choose the short two-hour trek up Monte Matanna (1,317 m/4,320 feet), or prefer to base yourself at the Rifugio Alpe della Grotta.
