3,900 HUF (Euro 15.6) to 7,000 HUF (Euro 28) per person per night in high season make it a bargain small town hostel/hotel. It sits between two running streams in the middle of the woods and it’s loaded with extra adventure amenities (including Lipizaner stallions). The hotel rooms (not the hostel) each have a bath, toilet, television and a small terrace. The tasty food costs about 1,500 HUF (Euro 6) to 3,000 HUF (Euro 12), for wild fowl, trout, with a choice of diabetic-friendly, Hungarian and international cuisine.
It’s only a couple of minutes from the outdoor museum and the entrance to the famous Szalajka Valley, as well as the train station. Horseback riding, sledding in the winter, gliding, rock climbing, archery, hunting, jeep tours, and walking tours may be available to any guest, depending on demand. The proximity of numerous trails makes this an excellent base point for hiking. There is a tennis court, soccer field, bar, and secure parking.
