This is 10 minutes up the road from the Plague Cross and has both pension and private rooms. It’s a student’s or very low-budget traveler’s lodging but don’t let that fool you or put you off. Its cellar restaurant is probably the best eatery in town and, for the money, an incredible deal (3,000-6,000 HUF). But it may fool you as you look outside and walk into the main dining area, as there is no hint of the lower cellar. Eat in the cellar and you’ll experience the ambience of medieval Hungary, but there is one hitch… no live music. Nevertheless, both price and quality are a bonus here and, in addition to the Hungarian, they have a substantial Swabian (early German-Hungarian) menu. This place is popular with the locals.
