Next along, going east, Boulouris is a wide, quiet bay surrounded by rocky red spurs of the Estérel. In the inlets between them are eight separate, sandy beaches. These are among Saint Raphaël’s best. Beach chairs and umbrellas can be rented on Plage de la Tortue. Hotels, across the road from the beaches, are small and personal. This area is also popular for summer rentals and chambre d’hôtes. A thalassatherapy spa on the beach offers all kinds of European sea-water treatments, an aquagym in a heated seawater pool and a Turkish bath. The tiny Port du Toukan is a complete change of pace from the huge ports of the center. It has space for only 60 boats. There is a good shopping area along the Esplanade Saint Jean.
