Despite the merry moniker, the Italian-owned Hôtel Lotti is a seriously elegant hotel with a prestigious location between the Place de la Concorde and the Place Vendôme. Its Italian roots show in the Tuscan-style lounge bar, with mosaic tiled floors, potted palms and stained glass ceiling. The hotel’s 128 spacious rooms are decorated with delicate antique furniture and oil paintings, and are equipped with extra closet space, climate control, satellite TV, minibar, bathroom phone extension, in-room safe, and dial-up Internet access (for a fee). The Italian marble bathrooms have heated towel racks, bathrobes, combined shower/tub, and bidet. Guests can dine in the hotel’s Michelin-starred Italian restaurant, Gualtiero Marchesi, open for lunch and dinner (the buffet breakfast is also served here). A full-service concierge desk can handle anything from booking shows to hiring babysitters. Renovations, including a new gym and business center, should be finished by mid-2004. Check the hotel’s web site for off-season and last-minute promotions of 50% off the rack rate.
