Swizzle Inn, 3 Blue Hole Hill, Bailey’s Bay. Named for the rum swizzle drink, this is one of the oldest pubs in Bermuda and very much a downto-earth restaurant where the food is mainly inexpensive especially the burgers and sandwiches and the atmosphere pleasant and relaxing. You can dine inside or out. Try the fish sandwich it’s one of the best I’ve ever eaten. And you should also try the bread pudding, which is out of this world. Burgers are, of course, popular with the lunchtime crowd and, though I’ve never tried them,they are claimed to be quite special. Dinner features more of the same, but bigger,with more of an emphasis on seafood. There’s fish, shrimp and shellfish, plus there’s curry as well. The Swizzle Inn is just a short bus ride from Hamilton via a number 1,3,10 or 11 bus. Reservations not required. Open daily from 11 am until midnight 1 am during the busy season.
