Pelican Bay at Lucaya is one of Grand Bahama Island’s newest boutique hotels. The 90-room hotel and the 96-suite Pelican Bay Suites offer a combination of Bahamian and European architecture and service. The resort is nestled at water’s edge, tucked away on a peninsula where you can forget the hustle and bustle, enjoy the beach, and yet remain close to all of the shopping and activities of the Lucaya Marketplace and resort area. Pelican Bay is a romantic place for couples looking for a dreamy getaway, a first or second honeymoon, or for a custom-designed wedding.

There’s no need to set the alarm. Instead, you’ll be awakened by the aroma of fresh-baked pastries that are placed in an old-fashioned pass-through in your front door each morning. No knocks intrude on your peace; it’s just there when you awaken and are ready for your morning espresso. Yes, here’s an espresso machine in the breakfast corner of your suite. Then, you can relax on your balcony, watching the dive boats on their way to the reefs and prepare for a day of fun. The 640-square-foot guest rooms have Italian-tiled floors and either two double beds or one king bed.

Amenities include cable TV, direct dial telephones, coffee- and tea-making facilities and private balconies or patios. The suites are a spacious 750 square feet and include a living room with pullout sofa beds, breakfast corner, bath suite, bedroom, balcony and a work area with dual telephone lines and modem jack/data port. Room rates include a welcome drink, a coupon for a poolside tropical drink and complimentary al fresco continental breakfast served daily from 7 until 10:30 am at Yellow Tails Floating Bar, adjacent to the main pool.
