Proprietor Erico Canel spent many years dreaming about a career in the medical profession, but instead chose to follow in the footsteps of his restaurateur parents, a decision which has given him great pleasure over the years. Since the 1920s, when his grandfather established this restaurant, locals have enjoyed traditional Trevisian specialties served in a casual atmosphere. Condo, a name derived from Canel’s father, Giocondo, changes its menu daily, always adhering to Trevisian traditions. The pipe alla salsiccia e rosmarino (pasta prepared with sausage and rosemary) is very good, as is the salame al cioccolato. There are three dining rooms decorated with lace-draped lamps, old prints and checkered tablecloths. The taverna room with the fireplace is cozy, but my favorite is the Sala della Storia (history room) with oversized maps of Central Europe from the early 20th century covering the walls.
