The spa hotel, the Danubius Thermal Hotel Margitsziget. The two hotels are connected by an underground tunnel. Both have spa facilities and sit in the middle of the Danube on the island! Between the two there are three fine restaurants (special diets, vegetarian, fish and kosher in addition to a Hungarian and international menu), and nightly entertainment. Their mineral springs are supplemented by massages, saunas, weight rooms, mud baths, doctors and health directors, medicinal and non-medicinal pools, and about anything you might require to be pampered (including cosmetic surgery and dentistry). It is the best buy in this price range. The island is a protected botanical preserve, providing jogging, bicycling, horseback riding, electric carts, open-air theaters, a Japanese garden, various rose and flower gardens, tennis courts and playgrounds, swimming pools and baths, picnic tables and lots of room to run or stroll. The Belváros is a 15-minute walk and arliament is only 10 minutes. Aside from that it’s just plain fun to be in the middle of the Duna, jog its graveled path until you arrive at concrete steps, and meander down to the water to dip your bare toes in the Danube!
