On the Buda side of the Danube, don’t miss the Art’otel, with the funky feel of the 50s and 60s and paintings and design by the American artist, Donald Sultan. It is set in four remodeled 18th-century Baroque houses. Its Chelsea Restaurant is top-rated. Every room has a view at night of the lights of Parliament reflecting on the shimmering Duna. A walk up the back streets takes you up Castle Hill, or walk to the restored Victorian funicular, a stepped cog tram, at Clark Ádám tér and go directly up to the Hapsburg palace. At the same time, bus connections from the front of the hotel put you in touch with the entire city.
