This is an all inclusive (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner and beverages, including house wine) resort on the beach. There are 64 air conditioned suites featuring whirlpool hot tub, shower, flat screen TV, DVD player, telephone with voice mail, Internet access and ceiling fan. Restaurant, bar, pool, business center, water sports, fitness center, bicycles, golf and tennis are among the amenities. The hotel layout is pleasing without being monumental or grandiose. Elegant stores sell designer clothes at duty-free prices (bring your air ticket as proof that you’ll be leaving), a beauty care center and spa complete the pampering. Staff members are friendly without the dismissive haughtiness sometimes shown to walk-in visitors at other all-inclusives. After a US$10 million renovation, this is the jewel of Grand Anse, and we suppose the jewel is an emerald, since owner Sir Royston Hopkins is committed to eco-friendly tourism. With policies of least waste and recycling where possible, this green resort heads the way in responsible practices.
