This hot upscale property has set a standard by which others will be judged. Susan Fisher and her husband, Yves, have painstakingly designed their creation down to the last detail. The Water’s Edge Restaurant & Bar draws many patrons from establishments island-wide. Above, the clubroom atmosphere of Bay View Lounge, which has board games to supplement the beau-tiful view. A grocery market, gift shop and Blue Ginger Spa add to the eclectic nature of the place. The accommodations are spread around 18 acres amid orchards and gardens, blending into the terrain, and lending a village atmosphere. There are 11 air-conditioned villas and cottages with ceiling fans, phone, cable TV, and CD players. All have plush furnishings, unique artwork and tropical plants. Arriving guests will find their kitchens stocked with tea and coffee, cheese, crackers and fruit. Daily maid service is provided. Snorkel gear and kayaks are at hand, although one of Bel Air’s maxim is “Set your own pace,” so don’t be surprised if you end up lounging by the plantation’s pool.
