Around the corner is the Potager du Roi Louis XIV’s historic kitchen gardens run today by the National Landscaping School. Those interested in seeing what interesting shapes pear and apple trees can be trained into can pay Euro 6.50 to have a look around (Euro 4.50 on weekdays, Euro 3 for students, free for kids under age six). Or just buy some fresh veggies, fruit or conserves from the boutique. open daily, April to October, 10am to 6pm. Free guided tours (in French only) on the weekends.
