The hotel’s four rooms and two villas can accommodate 16-20 guests so it’s pretty much a private hide-away. In fact, you can rent the entire island for a special event. All the accommodations face water. You can scuba dive nearby, sail small boats, windsurf, kayak and snorkel. You’ll dine at the water’s edge on West Indian and international special- ties, including lobster. There’s a small Pusser’s Company Store selling resort wear and rums. You can enjoy a drink at the Cay’s Summit and have a 360° view of neighboring islands. The original owner of Marina Cay, Rob White, wrote a book called Our Island about his experiences that became a film. Marina Cay is a popular anchorage for yachts so many of their guests will join you for lunch and dinner. It’s only 10 minutes by launch from Marina Cay to the Government Dock on Trellis Bay, Beef Island, so it’s easy to go to Da Loose ongoose for dinner (see page 100) or even into Road Town. You can visit Marina Cay for the day by taking the launch from Trellis Bay on Beef Island. You’ll have to pay for watersports gear, lounges and the launch.
