Tiszaújváros
Tiszaújváros is situated just to the west of of the junction of the rivers Tisza and Sajó. It is the first town reached when journeying east from Budapest toward the Tisza on Route 35. Tiszaújváros is famous above all for its thermal spa, the Tiszaújváros Spa, which has the distinction of being one of the most modern thermal baths in Hungary. The baths are equipped with the latest technology, and include medicinal pools and an adventure bath.
Tiszaújváros also hosts the Triathlon World Cup, as well as many popular canoe and boat races. As a result, the town has several good hotels and hostels.
Two towns of interest, quite close to Tiszaújváros and easily reached Route 35 heading east over the Tisza River, are Polgár and Folyás, the latter on the doorstep of the splendid Hortobagy National Park.
