Open Mon-Fri 11 am to 3 pm, Sat-Sun 11 am to 5 pm, closed Sun Nov to March. Average entrée 2,500-3,000 HUF. Lake Feneketlen (Bottomless Lake), is located in the park of the same name. A long wood terrace stretches over the water, yet from the shore-side entrance an unimposing building hides the restaurant. If you’re not careful, this place could be missed, and it shouldn’t be. And, if you’re a family, with smaller children, here is one place to dine and entertain the kids at the same time. In a separate room of this large restaurant they have set up toys, plus a full movie screen for children’s movies and cartoons. Babysitters are supplied by the restaurant so the parents can dine in relaxed African/South American elegance in another section of the restaurant (not so far away that a parent can’t make a quick check). On the sprawling wood terrace overlooking the lake, DJs play (including Latin rhythms). Sections of the restaurant thematically open out in Latin, Mediterranean, and African motifs. A corner fireplace with sofas and heavy upholstered chairs sits off from the main Mediterranean din-ing area, only a few yards from the piano, and you can dine there by the fireplace as well. The cuisine is the rave, prepared by chefs who formerly worked shoulder-to-shoulder with the famous Gundel. Almost every major star of Hungary has come to this place, and many American stars. The restaurant album includes a smiling photo of Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a note from him – “thank you very much for the great food and the wonderful time…. I’ll be back.”
