Brasserie am Gendarmenrmarkt is a popular brasserie across the road from the Concert Hall. Flammkuchen, a specialty from Alsace, is well-liked, as is the frequently varying lunch menu. Outdoor
seats give an excellent view of the Gendarmenmarkt.

Brasserie No 12 is a little brasserie serving small meals in addition to drinks at very low prices. Most of the food seems pre-cooked but the location is grand and the prices minimal.

To the north of Savigny Platz is Brunello, Knesebeckstraße 18,a small Italian restaurant with a large menu and friendly personnel. Italian dining here is on a higher level than the multitude of Italian restaurants and pizzerias that litter much of Berlin.

Café Einstein, Unter den Linden 42, is a branch of the famous similarly named Viennese-style coffee shop in West Berlin. Although the food is good, it is really the coffee and cakes that make for a great mid-morning or late-afternoon break.
