Hotel Annabella is a hotel with a Mediterranean feel and the staff is excellent in English. They have five air-conditioned suites, among other options. This is part of the Danubius group of hotels, the largest and probably the best Hungarian hotel chain, in business since the 1950s. Extras include everything from a pampering pedicure followed by aromatherapy bath, to sailing and horseback riding, all booked from the desk. Many of the rooms are not air-conditioned, but they are well-insulated so there really is not much concern about weather variables.
On the other hand, the views are terrific from every room, and if you don’t like the Balaton shore, you can compensate with a dip in the indoor or the outdoor pool. Evenings feature a live piano bar every night. A folklore program on Thursday evenings caps it for the indoor-outdoor restaurant café. If you’ve had enough walking, you can rent a car here as well and keep it parked in their free parking lot.
