The National Blue Trail offers the finest walking/hiking in the nation. From the Austrian border, at Velem, it extends 11,400 km/6,835 miles through aromatic forests and over flowing streams, alongside mountains and through fields blooming with flowers, by villages and cities, and into the hills and peaks of the Bukk and Aggetelk National Forests. It then goes down through the wine country of Tokai, across the Tisza River and the plains of the Hortobagy where sheep and cattle graze.
