Hot air ballooning over theWest End City Center is becoming one of the more popular tourist attractions. It costs 5,000 HUF for adults, 3,000 HUF for children, day and night, and offers an unexcelled 360° panorama of the entire city. Its popularity means there is a waiting list. It is a completely safe captive flight, soaring 500 feet over the city. Lit up by flood lights at night, the balloons are visible from great distances. Each flight is about 20 minutes, with 25 passengers per flight maximum, flown by licensed balloon pilots (they will not fly in questionable weather). Peak season, 10 am to midnight; offseason, 10 am to 6 pm.
