Gem has 18 air-conditioned apartments of one and two bedrooms. Single bedroom units have a shower; apartments with two bedrooms have bath and shower. All have kitchenette, sitting room, and balcony overlooking the bay, plus TV, telephone and ceiling fans in sitting rooms. Beach towels and chairs are provided. There is an on-site mini-mart, and the beach bar has the Sur La Mer restaurant above. This is a great location on the beach in Morne Rouge Bay. The apartments are furnished – they’re on the chintzy side, but comfortable nevertheless. Between the hotel and restaurant is the Fantazia 2001 nightclub, which is soundproofed.
