Air Service Berlin has several off-beat choices, including the only seaplane in Berlin, a single engine “Duck 01” that takes off from the Spree River and then circles the sights of Berlin. Flight duration is around 30 minutes and it costs Euro 120.

From Berlin-Schönefeld airport, 45-minute flights in a Rosinenbomber (DC3) that was used during the Berlin Airlift of 1948 cost around Euro 130. Helicopter flights range from i50 to Euro 120. A few small Zeppelin aircraft fly throughout Germany. When in Berlin, 45-minute flights cost around Euro 300 and 70-minute flights Euro 400.

Berlin High Flyer, located in Ebertstraße close to Potsdamer Platz, is one of the world’s largest helium balloons. Every 15 minutes, if the wind is fairly calm, it shoots 150 m (480 feet) up in the air, giving fantastic views of Berlin. No reservations are taken.

In summer, the balloon is in operation from Sunday to Thursday, 10 am to 10 pm; in winter from Sunday to Thursday, 11 am to 6 pm, Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm.

City Circle Tour covers a circular route in two hours with 14 hop-on/hop-off points en route. Buses run every 15 or 30 minutes. Day tickets cost i18 and commentary is available in eight languages. Combinations with Spree River cruises are possible. Berolina arrange bus trips of Berlin as well as nearby areas such as the Spreewald and Potsdam. Tours thatinclude entrance to Schloss Sanssouci require prior reservations.
