With one of the island’s most beautiful settings, Leverick Bay Resort is crowded most of the year. It is the only North Sound resort that can be reached by car because it is on the Sound’s southern shore and not on the peninsula. One of the liveliest stops on Virgin Gorda, it has the largest supply of watersports gear for rental and an active marina. An office of Dive BVI is also located here. The resort is small, with only 14 guest rooms and four guest suites. The accommodations are located above the pool and sea in a string of bi-level buildings with pastel peaked roofs. The rooms are comfortably furnished with rattan, tropical fabrics and two double beds. There is an unstocked refrigerator, cable TV and private balcony. The one- and two-bedroom suites – Ginger, Nutmeg, Spice and Cinnamon – are a bit more luxurious. The bedrooms are air-conditioned and there are kitchen facilities. There is a double-size sleeping sofa. The wrap-around terraces face North Sound and Mosquito Island; they have grills. The resort has a beautiful whale-shaped pool and sundeck, but most guests head to the beach where water toys and boats can be signed out. There is a beach bar and restaurant. The resort’s main restaurant Dining, is near the pool. The shops include a Pusser’s Company Store, Palm Tree Gallery for crafts and gifts and The Chef’s Pantry, for gourmet take-out. Leverick Bay’s Spa is open to non-guests. Reservations are essential.
