Parrot Cay Resort is a class act, and it’s very expensive. Located on an isolated private island north of Provo, the resort complex is a collection of 10 pastel-colored buildings in which the luxury guest rooms are located. Each has a private terrace (not just a balcony, you’ll notice) or veranda, and a large, cool bathroom. Rooms are decorated in white with dark wood trim. The furniture includes four-poster beds, complete with mosquito nets (just decorative, not necessary), and each is fully air-conditioned. All meals, beverages, and most activities are included in the rates.
The food and drink are just about as good as it gets in an all-inclusive resort. Facilities include what is claimed to be the largest swimming pool in the Turks and Caicos, along with a whole range of watersports that include Hobie Cats, windsurfing, canoes and water skiing. There’s also a very upscale spa – at an extra cost – which has three pavilions, complete with treatment salons where you can partake of a range of Eastern healing and rejuvenating therapies, from meditation to yoga. Bone fishing can be arranged. Finally, there’s the beach: it’s one of the best, really.
