Bimini Fishing
The Biminis are perhaps the best-known of the Bahamian Out Islands thanks to the publicity provided by such famous fishermen as Ernest Hemingway, Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., and Zane Grey. Today, they are widely accepted as a sport fishing mecca. Beyond that, the Biminis are an excellent yachting and cruising center and an exciting destination for divers.
Most of Bimini’s visitors come to fish. The seas off the tiny islands abound with white and blue marlin, tarpon, sailfish, swordfish, amberjack, wahoo, barracuda and shark. Bonefish, too, are plentiful on the flats off the coast of Alice Town. More than 20 fishing tournaments each year draw anglers from around the world in search of the great billfish and a place in angling history.
