Fans of airborne sports flock here to ride the excellent thermals rising off the area’s south-facing slopes. Want a ride? Several outfitters oblige, offering a good selection of airplane, glider, parachuting, paragliding, and hang-gliding flights. Kayaking |
Local rivers, most notably the Taxanbach Gorge, also accommodate rafting, kayaking, hydrospeeding, and canyoning. In addition, the specialist school Kajak Center offers watersports packages, including a Family Day Tour by canoe for families with kids six years and older.

Boating |
Pedalboat and rowboat rental is at the Stadtpark, and sailing lessons are offered on the lakefront or hop aboard the roundtrip boat tours departing the Zell’s docks from April through October. Ferries are operated by Schmittenhöhebahn AG.
